My name is Valerie, and I’m thrilled to be launching Wild + Ruff Dog Photography after spending the past year preparing to make this dream a reality. Welcome!

On my new blog and website, you can see dog portraits galore, learn more about my favourite dog-friendly places, and find out about new dog photography offerings.

I chose to specialize in dog photography because I believe dogs deserve as giant a spot on our walls, as they hold in our hearts. They are beloved family members (my daughter insists our dogs are my favourite children), and they bring us so much comfort, love and silliness. Every dog is beautiful, and that is never more true than when they’re living their best life in nature.

If you’re interested in getting portraits but worried that your dog is not as well-trained as the dogs in these pics—fear not! Many of these beautiful doggos were full of beans on photo day. And we have the option to keep your dog on-leash for some or all shots, then use the magic of Photoshop to make the leash disappear in the final images. It doesn’t matter if a dog has limited training, because I have unlimited patience and lots of tricks to elicit beautiful poses and expressions.
