Capture your dog’s wild spirit

Dog portraits in nature, by Prince Edward County photographer Valerie Howes

Dogs come alive in nature. I photograph the magic.

Capture the joy your dog feels in wild places at a natural-light portrait session in Prince Edward County. You’ll revisit your memories of a beautiful morning or evening in nature together for years to come through wall art or a keepsake album that celebrates your dog’s personality and the bond you share.

At our session, I use gentle and reward-based techniques to guide dogs in their poses and activities and to elicit expression. I’ve worked successfully with rambunctious puppies, nervous rescue and foster dogs, agility champs, hunting and herding dogs, furry goofballs, dogs with disabilities, and seniors with ailing health. Your dog can be on leash for all or some of the session, as required, and I can simply digitally remove leashes and collars in the editing process. Safety is my top priority.
